Get to know Mahtab khalili

Mahtab Khalili is an Iranian visual artist known for her meticulous dot art and mandala-inspired works on canvas, plaster, and handmade sculptural forms. Her artistic journey began seven years ago during a period of personal stillness, when she first picked up brushes and paint out of curiosity and instinct. After exploring oil painting through formal training, she was captivated by the meditative discipline of dot work and mandala patterns.

Khalili creates highly detailed pieces on canvas and plaster objects, as well as unique paper mache sculptures crafted from recycled materials like egg cartons and mixed media. Her works are a fusion of patience, cultural memory, and ornamental beauty—often echoing traditional Iranian patterns and meticulous detail.

Unlike contemporary trends in abstract minimalism, Khalili’s art demands and celebrates slowness, intricacy, and the unseen hours behind each dot. Through this labor-intensive approach, she reclaims artistic space in a world that often rushes past nuance.

Her works are available internationally through Saatchi Art and showcased on Instagram. She welcomes commissions, collaborations, and exhibition opportunities.
